Hiding in plain sight

Finding an NHL team's brand essence

Nº 01Ottawa Senators

Every player, coach, and staffer already believed the same thing: this team was the underdog, and had been for years. Nobody had said it out loud. We turned that quiet conviction into HEART OVER HYPE, a rallying cry built on deeds over words, substance over superficiality, selflessness over selfies. The essence was already there. We found it and put a name on it.

When features stop being the fight

Repositioning a telecommunications provider

Nº 02Breezeline

Every national telecom's brand was fighting the same war: more bandwidth, more bundles, more channels, and customers were tired of all of it. That exhaustion was Breezeline's opening. It couldn't out-feature anyone with a bigger budget, so we recommended it didn't try. Instead we built a case for repositioning on customer experience instead, with the Pinwheel, its most distinctive asset, carrying the promise.

Different problem, same eyes

Over 20 projects for a leading Canadian bank

Nº 03Royal Bank of Canada

Customer intelligence one quarter, a brand platform the next, a product concept that needed pressure-testing before anyone inside would fund it after that. Twenty-plus projects for one of Canada's leading banks, no two alike on the surface, held together by the same fresh pair of eyes on their business, their customers, their competitors, and the same sequence every time: intelligence, insights, ideas.

Save-On-Foods

A standard, not a slogan

Finding a leading grocery chain's source of differentiation

Nº 04Save-On-Foods (Pattison Food Group)

This retailer wasn't short on health credentials: a specialty pharmacy banner, a wellness-focused grocery brand, naturopathic and compounding expertise most competitors don't offer. What it lacked was one idea holding those pieces together at the shelf. We defined the Wellness Standard, a single credible bar across grocery, pharmacy, specialty pharmacy, and nutrition, so shoppers could see the difference instead of reading about it.

Ingredients aren't a story

Re-invigorating an RTD cocktail brand

Nº 05FBOMBZ (United Craft)

FBOMBZ already had what most RTD cocktails don't: a shape nobody mistakes for another can, a name that sticks, a package built to stack, flavour with real cocktail credibility. What it didn't have was the language to carry all of it. We sharpened the promise it already had, refreshed the identity around it, and gave it a rallying cry built entirely out of a word the brand already owned. We found it sitting in the brand's own name: DROP. Drop in. Drop by. New drop.

From cupboard to cup

A category platform for three major tea associations

Nº 06Three tea associations

Tea sits in almost every kitchen cupboard in the country, and stays there. High household penetration, low frequency of consumption, a paradox three national tea associations had each been fighting alone. The question we put in front of them wasn't how to sell more tea. It was how to get tea from cupboard to cup, more often, for people who already own it. That provocation, not a finished platform, is where three competing organizations found enough common ground to start building together.
